PwC Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) will invest 6 million USD over the next two years to develop services dedicated to environmental, sustainability and governance (ESG) policies in countries in the region, including Romania, and will set up a center of excellence to advise clients on strategy and reporting in this area.
The announcement was made at the regional launch event of the new global strategy “The New Equation”, focused on four pillars: ESG, improving skills (upskilling), people and reducing carbon emissions.
“In order to succeed in the current global climate, companies need to gain the trust of stakeholders and deliver sustained results. Through our PwC ECE capabilities, combined with smart investment and commitment to customers and stakeholders, we can help build trust in our companies and create sustainable solutions to the challenges we face,” said Nick Kós, PwC ECE CEO .
“Under pressure from regulators, investors and society, the business community needs to demonstrate that it can create long-term value by managing ESG issues. In this context, companies will go through the transition to efficient, responsible and transparent operating models that require transformation, compliance requirements, reporting and implementation of appropriate technologies,” said Dinu Bumbăcea, Country Managing Partner PwC Romania and Moldova.
