The number of new electric vehicles that have been submitted to the Romanian Car Registry (RAR) to obtain a Romanian registry is 50% higher in the first 6 months of 2019 compared to the whole period of 2018. RAR workers have noted that more and more Romanians are asking for the issuance of the vehicle identity card (CIV) for electric or hybrid cars, the institution announces.

In the first six months of this year, 3,513 new hybrid vehicles and 1,562 used vehicles were recorded in the RAR records. During the same period, 1,503 new and 97 used electric vehicles were registered.

Throughout 2018, RAR registered 4,580 new hybrid vehicles and 2,377 used hybrid vehicles, 1,050 new electric and 110 used electric cars.

If in 2018 about 8,177 electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles were registered, in the first half of this year their number has already reached 6,675.
