A new requirement is beginning to take shape on the Romanian energy market in the field of cyber security, an area that has not been a priority in this sector until now. More and more customers who want to install photovoltaic parks are asking for cybersecurity solutions, which indicates an emerging trend that emphasises the digital protection of energy infrastructure, said Răzvan Copoiu, Deputy CEO of Enevo Group, at the conference “Romanian Energy Market – Facts of 2025”.
“It’s something new in the energy market and we’re glad that we’re somehow getting into this area of software. It’s a new trend,” he said.
The market has been growing since last year and the prospects for 2025 are very good. Enevo ran “a lot of projects in PV” in 2024, which, cumulated with projects in 2025, exceed an installed capacity of 1 GW.
“The upward trend observed since last year continues into 2025, outlining very favourable prospects. Taking into account the projects initiated last year and due to be finalised this year, we estimate for 2025 to reach a threshold of €100 million turnover based on a contracted capacity of more than 1 GWp,” he said.
According to Răzvan Copoiu, “really substantial” projects are starting to appear on the market, i.e. individual projects of more than 100 MW installed. Moreover, Enevo hired 100 construction and electricity specialists last year in order to be able to carry out the contracted projects. The company also has projects planned for the battery energy storage sector, to be delivered between April and May. However, the year 2026 is currently in doubt as to whether this positive trend in the renewable energy industry will continue.
“I think we’ve hired about 100 more people, electrical and construction specialists. Romania still has room for growth in this area of labour,” he added.
