Energy efficiency means high profit margins and low investment costs, along with the use of artificial intelligence and automation, said Răzvan Rădulescu, CEO of Software Media WEBUS 4 ENERGY.
“Efficiency means having very good investment margins and minimal costs. It means removing imbalances in the system. And how do we do that? We put artificial intelligence to work, we rely on computers, sensors, equipment, automation and predictability”, he said at the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Bucharest” organised by Energynomics together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania – CCIpR.
This requires energy producers to have digital platforms that make their business predictable and able to generate stable revenues. Power generation plants will also need to be synchronised with the other elements of the national energy system, i.e. with consumers and the energy distribution and transmission networks.

“Talking about energy efficiency and digitisation, we have to consider that efficiency means money. The general optic is to balance the whole grid, but we believe it has to be balanced at the source, where the energy is produced. A consumer can become responsible for the way they consume energy and earn money if they consume it responsibly. And if he also has solar panels and storage batteries, he immediately becomes energy efficient,” Rădulescu said.
