“March marks the third consecutive catastrophic month for electromobility in Romania, with a market share of electric cars of only 2.7%. It is a strong alarm signal: without increasing the eco-ticket to 8,500 euros and without a clear phasing of it until 2030, which would provide consumers with predictability, we risk remaining in last place in the European Union in the adoption of electric vehicles. It is essential to act quickly and decisively to change this trend!”, said APIA President Dan Vardie, quoted in the press release.
Overall, in the reference period, new vehicle registrations increased by 3.3% compared to March 2024, but decreased by 12.9% compared to February 2025.
