On April 14-15, 2022, an official delegation of the National Agency for Energy Regulation of the Republic of Moldova led by Mr. Veaceslav Untilă, General Director, paid a working visit to the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), where had discussions with the delegation led by Mr. Dumitru Chiriță, the president of the authority.
In the opening of the working meeting, the President of ANRE underlined the importance of the Cooperation and Assistance Program between the two authorities initiated in 2019, as well as the need to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two regulatory institutions.
The meeting addressed topics such as: radiography of the energy sector at the level of the two states, synchronization of power systems in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine with the European one, the need for solidarity in case of energy crisis, measures to ensure gas supply and electricity, as well as the expertise that can be offered by ANRE Romania in regulating the energy sector in the Republic of Moldova.
“ANRE will continue to support the National Agency for Energy Regulation of the Republic of Moldova for the harmonization of the internal legislation of the Republic of Moldova with the European legislation in the field of energy, in order to achieve a higher degree of integration of the regional market. We will expand bilateral dialogue and cooperation in order to apply best practices thus ensuring the necessary support for the development and improvement, where appropriate, of the national regulatory framework in the light of the experience gained by ANRE over 15 years as a regulator in a member state of the EU,” concluded the president of ANRE Dumitru Chiriţă.
