The Chinese company ReneSola Energy sold its two photovoltaic parks in Romania to Alternus Energy for 24 million euro.
ReneSola is one of the global leaders in the solar industry, entering Romania in 2012, according to Profit.ro.
Following the transaction, Alternus Energy will own four photovoltaic parks in Romania, with a total capacity of 21.5 MW. Unlike ReneSola, which leaves Romania, Alternus Energy is an American company that started its activity in Romania, by purchasing, in 2016, two solar parks with a cumulative capacity of 6.1 MW, after which it expanded activity in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
The two parks now sold to Alternus have a combined capacity of 15.4 MW and are located in Costeștii din Vale (Dâmbovița) and Dumbrava (Prahova). The parks are operated by Ecosfer Energy SRL and Lucas East SRL – special purpose vehicle companies (SPVs) that were created to manage the construction and operation of solar parks and related electricity production.
