RenewAcad (a brand owned by Wind Power Energy) has officially launched, in Petrila – Hunedoara County, the project to set up an assembly plant for components of equipment for the renewable energy industry. The project will involve investments of around 10 million euro and benefits from European funding through the Just Transition Programme.
“The Petrila factory will be built on the former industrial platform of the Petrila Mine and will produce components for energy storage batteries, robots for cleaning photovoltaic panels and environmental monitoring equipment,” Sebastian Enache, Managing Partner of Wind Power Energy, told the launch event, “We want this factory to be the nucleus of a wider industrial ecosystem,” he added, referring to plans to build a 20MWh energy storage battery in the neighbourhood of the factory, using locally produced components. “This project will be a key step in closing the production and investment chain, demonstrating that we can develop a complete local industry, from the production of equipment to its use in integrated renewable energy solutions.”
The Petrila investment will generate more than 50 jobs, helping the socio-economic and energy transition of the Jiului Valley, which is undergoing a complex process of economic transformation. The future of the region depends on the implementation of sustainable initiatives that support both local economic development and the communities affected by the changes in the energy sector.
Wind Power Energy is constantly carrying out specific consultancy activities in the field of wind farm and photovoltaic technology, including training for new trades such as renewable energy operators, wind turbine blade inspection and repair technicians, wind turbine installation technicians, wind turbine maintenance technicians or solar photovoltaic installers.
Wind Power Energy has pioneered the introduction of three new renewable industry occupations in the COR, namely for “Wind Turbine Blade Inspection and Repair Technician COR 311312”, “Wind Turbine Installation Technician COR 311313” and “Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician COR 311311”.
RenewACAD is the brand under which Wind Power Energy has built the largest network of renewable energy training centres in Romania. The network currently has four locations in Constanța, Bucharest, Petrosani and Rovinari.
RenewACAD provides internationally accredited and locally authorised technical courses for vocational training in green energy, wind and photovoltaics. RenewACAD has trained and is still training more than 90% of the personnel working in the field of renewable energies, based on more than 150 technical modules, using a hands-on approach in state-of-the-art laboratories.
