During this period, Romania has a record volume of funds for investments in the production of energy from renewable sources and for energy efficiency measures.
“Romania has never had so many sources of financing, somewhere around 100 billion euros”, said Roxana Mircea, Managing Partner at the consulting firm REI Grup, at the conference “Digitalization and energy efficiency – Timișoara”, organized by Energynomics.
These amounts are or will be provided through a series of financing mechanisms, such as the Modernization Fund, for which the publication of the financing guide is expected, probably in April.
This fund will be able to finance both projects submitted by town halls and factories.
“We have 500 million for factories, 500 million for UATs and 500 million for large developers. We see a fairly large opening from both the UATs and the industrial companies”, added Mircea.
The number of projects could increase as a result of adjusting the cost standards and bringing the new values closer to the current costs.

In the case of municipalities, this adjustment makes the part of co-financing for projects extremely low or even unnecessary.
