Romania imported in the first half of this year a quantity of crude oil of 3.317 million tonnes, with 415,200 tep (11.1%) less than that imported in the same period in 2016, according to centralized data National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Oil production totaled 1.72 million toe, being 4.6% (83.100 tep) lower than in January-June 2016, according to Agerpres.
According to the Energy Strategy, published on the website of the Ministry of Energy, crude oil production is projected to continue to slow down between 2030 and 2050, from 22 to 13 TWh (1.93 to 1.15 million toe).
In the ambitious carbon decarbonisation scenario combined with low oil prices, crude oil production has a turning point in 2035, starting from a sharp drop towards zero.
