Eu weekly Oil Bulletin placed Romania on one of the top spots in a classification on the most expensive diesel in the European area, with 1.21 euro per liter. Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, all have cheaper diesel. Instead, gasoline costs 1.28 euros per liter, being one of the cheapest in Europe. The cheapest countries for drivers are the Baltics and Poland, according to economica.net.
Romania has one of the cheapest gasolines in Europe, but has among the most expensive diesel, according to the latest EU weekly Oil Bulletin. Thus, 1,000 liters of petrol 95 costs 1.283 euros (1.28 euros per liter), while the standard 1,000 liters of diesel costs 1,210 euro (1.21 euro per liter). All prices include tax.
If Romania stands relatively well (sixth place) among the cheapest petrol countries in Europe, more cheaper being only Estonia, with 1.17 euro per liter, Bulgaria, with 1.18 euro per liter, Poland with 1.21 euro per liter, and the Czech Republic with 1.22 euros per liter, in diesel classification the situation is just the opposite. Romania is ranked 11th among the countries with the cheapest diesel in Europe.
More expensive diesel than in Romania is in England, Sweden, Italy, Finland, Ireland, Denmark, Malta, the Netherlands, Cyprus and Portugal. Developed countries, such as Germany, France, Austria, Spain and Belgium have a diesel price lower than in Romania.
The average price of fuel in Europe is 1.48 euro per liter for petrol and 1.257 euros per liter for diesel. The cheapest countries in terms of price at the pump are Poland and the Baltic countries. The most expensive ones are the Nordic countries, England and Italy.
