Foreign direct investment reached 3.962 billion euro in the first seven months, compared to 1.222 billion euro in the same period in 2020, representing an increase of 224%, according to data from the National Bank of Romania.
“Direct investments of non-residents in Romania amounted to 3.962 billion euros (compared to 1.222 billion euros in January-July 2020), of which equity investments (including estimated net reinvested profit) amounted to a net value of 3.353 billion euro, and the intragroup loans registered the net value of 609 million euro”, it is said in the release.
The number of newly established foreign capital companies in Romania increased in the first seven months of 2021 by 47.1%, compared to the same period in 2020, to 3,104 units, according to data centralized by the National Office of the Trade Register (ONRC), says Agerpres.
The 3,104 new companies had a subscribed share capital in the total amount of 26.413 million dollars, 477% higher than that of the companies registered in January-July 2020, of 4.574 billion dollars.
Depending on the fields, most companies registered in July 2021 were registered in wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair (26.55% of the total), professional, administrative, scientific and technical activities (21.66%) and transport, storage and communications (16.20%).
At the end of July 2021, in Romania there were 234,080 companies with foreign participation in the share capital. The value of the subscribed capital was of 64.132 billion dollars.
