The spot electricity market in Romania, initially coupled with those in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and then with those in Austria, Germany, Poland, will also be coupled with that in Bulgaria, this fall, writes e-nergia.ro.

Konstantin Konstantinov, CEO of IBEX, the Bulgarian energy exchange, recently stated that on September 20, the tests for connecting the Bulgarian spot market with the Romanian one will start. Coupled energy transactions will take place starting in October.

The information was also confirmed by Transelectrica officials, so, from October, the spot electricity market will operate in conjunction with the Bulgarian one.

The Bulgarian market has already been linked to the Greek spot market since spring.
