The country’s final electricity consumption was 4% lower in the first 11 months of last year, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, according to a statement from the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Thus, the indicator reached the value of 48.4 TWh.
Public lighting decreased by 12.2%, and household consumption increased by 4.3%. Consumption in the economy fell by 6.3%, according to Agerpres.
Electricity exports were 40% higher during this period, according to INS.
Meanwhile, production decreased by 6.5%. The largest decrease was that of hydropower plants – 13.5%, and production increases were registered in wind (1.9%) and photovoltaic energy (2.9%).
Between January 1 and November 30, 2020, primary energy resources decreased by 11.3%, and electricity resources decreased by 1.7%, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The main primary energy resources totaled 28.473 million tons of oil equivalent (toe), down 3.638 million toe.
During this period, the electricity resources were of 57,640 million kWh, decreasing by 1,005 million kWh, compared to the corresponding period of 2019.
