Romgaz recorded in the first half of this year (H1) a total production of hydrocarbons of 16.12 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), 4.6% higher than in the same period last year, according to a report submitted Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The amount of natural gas extracted, gross, was 15.99 million boe (+4.3%), and condensate production was 136,000 boe (up 50.5%).
Natural gas from internal production capitalized totaled almost 2.245 billion cubic meters, down 4.5% compared to the first semester of 2023, according to Agerpres.
Electricity production amounted to 450.8 GWh (minus 9.4%).
In the second quarter of this year, Romgaz’s hydrocarbon production was 7.76 million boe. The amount of natural gas extracted amounted to 7.69 million boe, and condensate production to 75,000 boe. Electricity production was 186.9 GWh.
Romgaz’s main business segments are geological exploration in order to discover new gas deposits, methane gas production by exploiting the deposits in the company’s portfolio, supply and distribution of natural gas, special operations and well services, production and supply of electricity.
The company’s majority shareholder is the Romanian state, with a 70.0071% stake in the share capital.
Starting from November 12, 2013, the shares issued by SNGN Romgaz are traded on the regulated market administered by the Bucharest Stock Exchange. At the same time, the company’s shares are the basis for global depository receipts (GDRs) issued by The Bank of New York Mellon, GDRs that are traded on the London Stock Exchange.
