Romgaz, the national gas producer that, through its subsidiary Depogaz, manages the majority of gas storage warehouses in Romania, has started the procedure to increase the daily extraction capacity from the Bilciurești deposit, according to e-nergia.ro.
“Increasing the daily natural gas extraction capacity in the Bilciurești deposit” is the procedure launched by Romgaz in the electronic public procurement system on February 5, according to the data on the auction platform.
The company is waiting for offers until March 21. The contract has an estimated value of 601 million lei and is divided into three lots. Financing is also provided from European funds through the Connecting Europe Facility mechanism.
According to the specification, the goal is to increase the daily extraction capacity from the Bilciurești deposit by 40%, up to a level of 20 million cubic meters per day, but also “increase the storage capacity by 108 million cubic meters/cycle, obtaining a capacity of total storage of 1,418 million cubic meters/cycle.”
They are also aimed at “expanding the portfolio of storage services with complex services that integrate, among other things, flexibility in operation and the provision of balancing services, respectively the creation of an above-ground infrastructure with a high degree of flexibility that allows the rapid reversal of the storage cycle (injection in during the extraction cycle or extraction during the injection cycle”, but also “Contribution to the fulfillment of the N-1 rule at the regional level in accordance with Regulation EU1938/2017. The implementation of the project ensures an increase of the N-1 indicator from 106.3% to to 114.58%.”
