Romgaz has suspended the contract termination process for the Iernut Thermal Power Plant for a period of 14 days, according to an information sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
“In accordance with the provisions of Law no. 24/2017 and art. 234 paragraph 1 of the ASF Regulation no. 5/2018, SNGN Romgaz SA informs the shareholders and investors that, on April 8, 2021, it suspended the notification of termination of the Works Contract No. 13384/2016, having as object the Development of CTE Iernut, through the construction of a 430 MW thermal power plant, with combined cycle gas turbines, for a period of 14 days, at the request of the contractor,” informs the company.
According to the document, during the suspension of the contract termination notification, the contractor will present a concrete proposal for completion and commissioning of the investment objective, as soon as possible, and Romgaz will analyze the proposal and formulate a response, according to Agerpres.
On February 23 of this year, the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu said that the project of the power plant that Romgaz is building at Iernut was a total failure, as the works were delayed for several years and no one has checked them, but the plant must be completed this year.
