Romgaz hosted an important “NS EDGE Cybersecurity Showcase” event on Tuesday, thus marking a considerable advance in strengthening the security of the critical energy infrastructure in Romania. The event celebrated the successful implementation of an advanced cyber security solution, developed by NS EDGE, an American company considered innovative for its leading technologies in the field of cyber threat intelligence, according to a press release from the Romanian company.
“Romgaz’s implementation and successful performance of the NS EDGE solution, supported by the US Foreign Trade Service and the Romanian Ministry of Energy, has set a new security standard for threat intelligence and defense in the energy sector.
Romgaz is aware of the growing importance of cyber security, which is why the company has integrated solid cyber security measures into its core strategy. This integration is crucial for protecting assets, ensuring operational continuity and maintaining the trust of interested parties”, Romgaz officials claim.
“For Romgaz, compliance with the NIS 2 Directive is not only a regulatory requirement, but also an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to cyber security. The collaboration with NS EDGE exemplifies our proactive approach to integrating leading technologies that improve our cybersecurity posture. This partnership underscores our commitment to supporting innovative solutions and our continued desire to excel in protecting critical infrastructure. Such actions reflect ROMGAZ’s commitment to comply with the highest security and resilience standards,” said Răzvan Popescu, Romgaz’s General Manager.
The NS EDGE solution is among Romgaz’s cybersecurity initiatives, and the implementation of this cutting-edge technology has been a success, providing real-time detection of cyber threats while efficiently processing large volumes of data with minimal computing resources.
The partnership between Romgaz and NS EDGE is additionally strengthened by the support of the CleanTech Nexus program, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Energy of Romania, Techcelerator and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova. This program promotes cross-border innovation and collaboration, helping to advance sustainable and secure energy solutions.
