National Company of Natural Gas Romgaz SA Medias wants to hire a law firm to represent the company in its lawsuits with its directors, current or former managers, as well as its own legal advisors, according to the official documents of the company.
The proposal will be discussed at the April 25 meeting of the General Meeting of Shareholders.
The company’s representatives argue that Romgaz is an injured party and a civil party in several criminal trials involving former and current employees, former and current directors, and that Romgaz syndicate includes some legal advisors of the society, according to Agerpres.
“If, in courts of law, the files of SNGN Romgaz SA on the one hand, and the Trade Union, on the other hand, were to be settled, the representation of the company would be provided by its own legal advisers and there may be a suspicion of a lack of objectivity in the exercise of the counseling profession by legal advisers, who are also trade union members,” reads a statement to motivate the proposal.
