Romgaz scored in the first quarter a net profit of 489.3 million lei, 13.1% lower than that registered in the same period last year, of 563 million lei, according to financial data submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE). Reduced gas consumption has, in turn, led to reduced deliveries by 2.5% from Romgaz, say company representatives.

Turnover slightly decreased by 0.1% to 1.363 billion lei, while revenue rose 1.3% to 1.316 billion lei. Expenditures accelerated by 13.8% to 706.3 million lei.

Natural gas production in the first quarter of 2016 was 1.374 billion cubic meters, 3% lower than the programmed and 4.3% below the one recorded in the same period last year. Iernut gas-fired power plant delivered with 93.8% more energy than in the first quarter of 2015.
