The photovoltaic industry is in a period of accelerated growth, with “spectacular” prospects for next year, especially for projects up to 5 MW funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Programme (NRRP), said Roxana Mircea, Managing Partner at REI Grup.

“I am convinced that at least half of the 700 projects submitted will stay standing,” said Mircea, at the conference “2024: A defining year for the renewable energy sector in Romania”.

She added that from the discussions she has had with the ministries managing such projects, she has received assurances that solutions will be found for funding through the NRRP and that the investment deadlines will be postponed by one year, until December 2025.

Totodată, vor avea șanse bune de a fi finanțate proiectele mari, de peste 300 MW, unde costul de instalare este de 60.000 de euro pe MW.

Despite investor appetite, delays in obtaining permits and administrative bottlenecks remain major problems. This would require an increase in administrative capacity and more staff in the institutions that approve such projects.

REI Grup has supported over 300 projects in recent years and had a turnover of 3.5 million euros last year.
