KazMunayGaz International (KMGI) plans to open about 70 Rompetrol fuel stations in the next four years, with the opening of about 25 petrol stations planned for 2019-2020, says Vladimir Rusnac, chief retail officer, KMGI.
“In the past years we have opened about 20 stations. For the future we plan to open about 70 stations, in the next 4 years. The development on the retail side takes place within the Kazakh-Romanian investment fund, which was created at beginning of 2019. For 2019-2020 we plan the opening of about 25 stations. Apart from the stations built within the fund, we will continue the collaboration with the franchise partners, where we estimate the opening of about 10 stations in the next years,” Rusnac said, quoted by Agerpres.
The Board of Directors of the Kazakh-Romanian Energy Investment Fund met in March in its first working session since its establishment in October last year.
The two shareholders of the Fund are the Ministry of Energy through the Energy Participation Management Company (20%) and KMG International (80%), the fund being part of the memorandum of understanding concluded by the two parties in 2013.
