The elections within the Romanian Association for Wind Energy (RWEA) reconfirmed the current leadership, so that Carlo Pignoloni – CEO and country manager of Enel Romania, remains president of the Association, and Adrian Borotea – director of Strategy and European Agenda, CEZ Romania, retains the position of vice president of the Association.
Carlo Pignoloni, president of RWEA since 2020, returned to Romania in 2019, as Enel’s country manager, after leading Enel Green Power’s operations in Italy and coordinating for 2 years the development operations of projects in Europe and North Africa. Carlo Pignoloni has previous experience in Romania, actively contributing to the development and construction of renewable energy production capacities between 2008 – 2011, within Enel Green Power Romania, from the position of general manager.
Adrian Borotea, vice president and executive director of RWEA since 2017, is the director of Group Strategy and EU Agenda at CEZ Romania, a company that is part of the CEZ Group in Romania. Prior to his role as vice president and executive director, Mr. Adrian Borotea has been a member of the Board of the Association since 2012 and has extensive experience in the policies of this sector.
“Under the coordination of the current leadership, RWEA will continue to promote renewable energy and the energy transition in Romania. We are talking about a growing association, very receptive to the needs of the industry and always present in the debates at national and European level. The regulations and legislation underlying the development of renewables require consistency and harmonization with European guidelines, and the RWEA will continuously signal and address discrepancies that could disrupt or jeopardize the development of renewables,” the RWEA statement reads.
