CEZ has decided to extend the contracting period for consumers remaining in universal service by six months, said Ondrej Safar, CEO of CEZ Romania, in an interview offered to Agerpres.
“Consumers have no reason to hurry … We have decided to extend the contracting period for six months,” he said, explaining that if a consumer chooses the CEZ offer during this period, he will be offered the price difference (as a discount), between the cost of the universal service and the competitive one.
In the meantime, CEZ will further inform consumers about its competitive segment offer.
“We will continue to send information to consumers… who also have access to our website and call center for information,” Safar added.
CEZ was one of the first companies to announce that it would offer a six-month grace period to universal service consumers to move into the competitive segment. Subsequently, all service companies of last resort received this recommendation from ANRE and undertook to make such reductions.
