The “Society of Energy Auditors and Managers of Romania” (SAMER) announces the General Assembly of its members, an event of major importance in the context of recent legislative changes in the field of energy efficiency and the increasingly stringent reporting obligations imposed by the EnerClima platform. The event will take place in physical format at Mercure Sibiu Airport, on 10 and 11 April 2025, starting at 15:30.

SAMER President Andrei Ceclan emphasises the need for members to actively participate in this meeting, as the agenda includes crucial issues for the future of the association and the profession. These include the approval of the partial execution of the revenue and expenditure budget for 2024, the adaptation of SAMER to new legislative requirements, as well as the strengthening of collaboration between energy auditors and energy managers to optimise mandatory reporting.

Agenda

In addition to the formalities of validating the quorum and electing the secretariat of the meeting, SAMER members will debate and approve fundamental issues, including:

  • Recent legislative changes in energy efficiency and their impact on the work of energy auditors and energy managers.
  • Annual reporting through the EnerClima platform, which imposes new requirements for professionals in the field.
  • Presentation and approval of the SAMER Board of Directors activity report for 2024.
  • Validation of new members and update of the official register.
  • Presentation of the budget execution for 2024 and adoption of the budget for 2025, with a proposal to increase the annual membership fee to 480 lei.
  • Expansion of partnerships and affiliation of energy auditors from the Republic of Moldova, in an effort of legislative harmonisation.
  • Modernisation of internal processes, including digitalization of communication through a dedicated web portal for members.

In addition, an important point of discussion will be SAMER’s transition to the status of public interest association. To this end, collaboration protocols will be initiated with universities that train future energy auditors and managers with a view to developing a single national curriculum.

Participation and benefits for members

The General Assembly is open to all SAMER members, with voting rights for those who have paid their subscriptions up to date. Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the strategic decisions of the association and participate in a recognised training session for the extension of professional certificates.

“Changes in energy efficiency require us to be proactive and adapt quickly. Through this General Assembly, SAMER reaffirms its commitment to support the community of energy efficiency professionals through transparency, collaboration and modernisation,” said President Andrei Ceclan.

The call was officially sent on 10 March 2025 and was published on the SAMER website and in the press. Members are encouraged to actively participate to help shape the future of the association and the profession of energy auditor and manager in Romania.
