The Ministry of Energy signed two new storage financing contracts on Monday, worth a total of 67 million lei, Minister Sebastian Burduja said on his official Facebook page.
“We are at a moment when we need to think seriously about what kind of Romania we want after these elections. It is no longer about parties and their fate, about political leaders and their fate, but about Romania. About a country that must move forward, and moving forward means investments, investments, investments and the ability to attract and develop them. For Romanians to do better, to be listened to and respected,” the minister wrote.
“We continue to do work for Romania, because this is the only mission we have as political leaders. And what we are doing at the Ministry of Energy is precisely for a strong country, which some today are clamoring for, without actually understanding what it means.
“At the Ministry of Energy, we signed today two new financing contracts for the development of electricity storage capacities, part of Investment I4.3 of the PNRR. Battery storage is the solution for lower bills, more green energy in the system when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing.
The projects carried out by two Romanian companies benefit from non-reimbursable financing of 4.9 million lei and 62 million lei, respectively. These investments will support the use of green energy and the balancing of the energy system,” he said.
“Within the program through which these projects are also financed, 38 have been approved so far. Seven contracts have already been signed, representing an installed capacity of over 922 MWh and financing of over 1.8 billion lei, of which more than 210 million lei are funds attracted through the PNRR.
“We have never had the resources we have now. We have never had the projects we have now. The opportunities we have for the Romanian energy sector are greater than ever. We cannot kick them away and turn our face to the East. We have no other option but to move forward,” Burduja concluded
