Nicușor Dan refuses the approval of the merger between ELCEN and Termoenergetica by the General Council, according to a press release from the Ministry of Energy.
“It’s the same recipe for the general chaos in Bucharest: irresponsibility, incompetence and ignorance,” says Sebastian Burduja, the Minister of Energy, responding to a comment by the Mayor General on Wednesday, according to which there would be no need for the approval of the merger by the General Council of the Bucharest City Hall ( CGMB).
“The refusal of Nicușor Dan to promote a decision of the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest for the approval, in principle, of the merger between ELCEN and Termoenergetica, motivated by the fact that there is already an intention that he expressed in 2021, throws deriding the vital issue of heating in Bucharest. Nicușor Dan thus calls into question the legality of the entire process and, in the usual note, goes beyond his duties,” says Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Energy and president of PNL Bucharest, who, most likely, will run for mayor of the Capital on June 9.
“Nicușor Dan’s attitude is typical for the way Bucharest was administered in the last three and a half years. It’s the same recipe for general chaos: irresponsibility, incompetence and ignorance. To cynically refuse to solve the problem of hot water and heating for more than 1.5 million citizens means to deny the citizens of Bucharest the right to a civilized life.
I understand Nicușor Dan’s recent campaign. He himself declared that in the most important moments of his life he slept. The facade campaign tries to prove something else, only that the twelfth hour has passed, and the citizens of Bucharest no longer have time for failed experiments. More than ever, the people of Bucharest have no more time or patience for the pretexts of a mayor completely detached from their everyday problems.
The ELCEN-RADET merger is not a fad and it must not become a victim of a personal arrogance of the mayor who claims to know everything. The victims are millions of Bucharest residents. That’s enough! We have a little bit left and we are saving the people of Bucharest from the mayor “Nimicușor” Dan. Yes, nothing is easy, but the first condition is to care and respect the law. On the subject of the ELCEN-Termoenergetica merger, I publicly request the general mayor’s office to comply with the law and to include on the agenda of the general council, as a matter of urgency, the draft decision without which we cannot move forward,” the ME statement adds.
The Ministry comes with a series of foreign documents that prove that “the statements of the mayor general of the Municipality of Bucharest are not true, as there is currently no assumption on his part of an agreement in principle to achieve the merger between ELCEN and Termoenergetica.”
