The Cluj company Servelect ESCO has completed the works on the first photovoltaic park of the company Termoficare Napoca (TNC) – the former Autonomous Regie Termoficare Cluj-Napoca, located on Plevnei Street, writes Transilvania Business. Currently, 30% of the total energy supplied by TNC is produced by photovoltaic panels. TNC will install a smaller photovoltaic installation on the terrace of the plant in the Grigorescu district, which will also benefit from a heat pump.

TNC’s photovoltaic plant consists of a system of 696 interconnected monocrystalline panels, with four 100 kW inverters. The value of the investment is 523,000 euros, without value added tax. For the investment, TNC benefited from a grant of 314,000 euros made available by Innovation Norway to finance eligible costs (60%).

The difference of 209,000 euros was covered by TNC. The plant serves 6,000 apartments in Cluj-Napoca and produces 30% of TNC’s total energy needs, with an annual saving of 75,000 euros in electricity and gas.

The mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc, stated that nine other objectives in the municipality are provided with such plants. In a year and a half, since these photovoltaic panels have been operating, 369 MWh have been produced, equivalent to 97 tons of CO2 and 2,500 trees planted. “There is also an ongoing project financed by the EEA and Norway Financial Mechanisms, 2014-2021, for the installation of photovoltaic panels at Scola I. Agârbiceanu, Parking Motilor, Parking Hasdeu and Parking Fabricii”, said Emil Boc. The total power proposed for them is 290 kWp. A photovoltaic park located in the Cluj Innovation Park area, with an installed power of 990 kWp, will soon be received.

Cluj-Napoca City Hall has decided to ban the location of apartment centrals in new buildings and is campaigning for the thermal rehabilitation of residential buildings, Mayor Emil Boc also said. “On the other hand, we support private investments in photovoltaic parks for which we have a simplified, faster procedure.”

The engineering activities company Servelect is equally owned by Andrei Ceclan and Claudiu Boca, and implements energy efficiency solutions with payment from the savings generated, having 900 completed projects in Europe.
