Silmaril Storage is very close to starting construction of its first battery energy storage project, which will have a capacity of 10 MW, said Diana Radu, co-founder of the company.

“The project will be operational in 2025, we hope to scale it up quickly. In Romania, we need storage to provide flexibility to the electricity grid and to solve the inherent problems caused by the intermittency of renewables,” she said at the conference “Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS Romania”, organised by Energynomics.

Silmaril Storage aims to become the leading owner and operator of battery energy storage systems in Romania.

According to the firm, its first 40 MWh project will become operational in 2025, and by 2030 its operational capacity will exceed 1500 MWh.

The conference “Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS Romania” was organised by Energynomics with the support of our partners: Alive Capital, Elektra Renewable Support, Enevo Group, Ensys, Enexus, OX2, EVOLVE Energy Management Solutions, EVOLVE Energy Management Solutions, SIM Connect, SolaX Power, Think Blu Solution, WEBUS 4 ENERGY, Wiren.
