The first e-car-sharing platform operating in Bucharest, Spark, was officially launched on Wednesday, with the lowest customer asking rate of 1.20 lei/ minute to rent a compact Renault Zoe model.

Customers interested in using this car-sharing service can locate the car closest to their location via the company’s phone application, book it, and then drive up to the desired destination, where it is parked. The opening of the car, the activation of the engine and the closing of the car are done electronically, by the client, from the application on the phone, representatives of Spark Romania told a press conference, according to Agerpres.

Customer tax is based on the time spent at the wheel of the car rather than the distance traveled.

The two car models offered by the Spark platform are Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf.
