The price of electricity and gas is rising, so people need to streamline their consumption to lower the bill, and a reduction in the temperature in the house in winter from 23 to 21 degrees Celsius would mean a saving of 15%, said on Friday the general manager of Engie Romania, Eric Stab.
He attended the launch of EFdeN Sustainable City, the first pilot project for a sustainable city in Romania and was asked by journalists why the price of gas will increase by about 25% from July 1.
“What has happened to energy prices lately? In the first part of the pandemic, wholesale gas and electricity prices have fallen significantly. Then, lately, what we are seeing is a sharp rise in gas and electricity prices, both in Romania and in the rest of the world. It is not only valid for energy, but for all goods in general, I mean copper, iron, many goods”, said Stab, according to Agerpres.
These increases will be reflected in the final price of energy and gas from July 1.
“The question is what can consumers do to limit the impact of these increases on their budgets. There are several ways to do this. The first is to pay more attention to energy efficiency,” the company representative said.
He referred to new technologies that have low energy consumption.
“We are here to launch the City of the Future and we see that there are many, many new technologies that help us save energy. And I think this is the number one answer for all of us,” Stab said.
