The level of excise duties will increase slightly next year for almost all product categories, thus also increasing fuel prices.
According to the figures published by the Ministry of Finance, the excise duty on leaded gasoline rises to 2,226.24 lei/1,000 liters, from 2,149.09 lei/1,000 liters this year, on unleaded gasoline to 1,892.72 lei/1,000 liters, from 1,827.13 lei at present, and the excise duties applicable to diesel next year will be 1,734.66 lei/1,000 liters compared to 1,674.55 lei/1,000 liters this year, according to Agerpres.
Also, for the natural gas used as engine fuel, the excise duty will increase to 14.08 lei/GJ, from 13.59 lei, for electricity used for commercial purposes the new excise duties applicable next year will be of 2.71 lei/MWh compared to 2.61 lei at present, and for non-commercial electricity, of 5.42 lei/MWh, compared to 5.23 lei/MWh currently.
Excise duty on beer increases to 3.77 lei/ hl /1 degree Plato, from 3.64 lei, while for beer produced by independent producers whose annual production does not exceed 200,000 hl, the tax was set at 2.08 lei, increasing from 2.01 lei. For sparkling wines, the excise duty will be 54.14 lei per hl of product, compared to 52.26 lei, and for ethyl alcohol produced by small distilleries – 1,889.44 lei, from 1,823.96 lei.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the excise duties are updated with the increase in consumer prices officially announced by the National Institute of Statistics.
