Arefu Electric Transformation Station, in Argeş County, which ensures the system evacuation of the energy produced by the Vidraru plant is to be modernized and refurbished with investments worth 76 million lei, said the Secretary General of the Government, Antonel Tanase.
“The electricity transmission network is an important national infrastructure circuit that must operate permanently. Therefore, a level of investment flexibility is needed to ensure that the network is maintained in optimal parameters for the activity. I am glad that Transelectrica assumes with responsibility the role of strategic company at national and regional level and invests in strengthening the grid. The General Secretariat of the Government, as administrator – on behalf of the Romanian state – of the majority stake of Transelectrica, carefully monitors the implementation of investment projects for consolidation and modernization of the domestic grid. The operation of the National Energy System is a governmental priority, and Transelectrica has always confirmed that it is a key factor working to maintain the guarantee of this aspect. Modernizing the Arefu station it is an objective that will contribute to the strengthening of the electricity transmission grid and proves the seriousness of the company’s investment strategy,” said Antonel Tănase.
The Secretary General of the Government, together with Cătălin Niţu, the President of the CNTEE Transelectrica SA Directorate and the members of the Directorate – Andreea Miu and Bogdan Marcu, paid a working visit to the 220/110/20 kV Arefu Power Station on Monday, to analyze the progress of works, recently commenced.
