The tender procedure for the Mintia Thermal Power Plant, subordinated to the Hunedoara Energy Complex, will be launched this year.
Discussions on this topic will take place next week between the representatives of the legal administrator of the complex and those of the Ministry of Energy.
The Hunedoara energy complex is preparing for the division and formation of a new company, of which the Mintia Thermal Power Plant will no longer be a part of, as a new round of talks between the administration and the representatives of the Ministry of Energy will take place next week.
Along with this process, the legal administrator of the insolvent complex will also start the procedures for the auction of the Mintia Thermal Power Plant, for which there are 11 interested investors, including seven foreign ones, including a Korean holding company, whose representatives visited the unit with three months ago, according to the RRA.
According to the administration, the inventory value of the thermal power plant exceeds 61 million euros, but the sale price is to be determined after next week’s discussions. Meanwhile, the energy groups have entered the procedure of closure and security, and the management of the complex has contracted security services for this purpose.
The management of the former union of the thermal power plant disputes these measures, which it states are prior to the demolition of the energy groups.
The Mintia thermal power plant ceased operations in March last year due to a lack of coal, and all 700 employees were laid off collectively in August, receiving compensatory payments of 10,000 euro each.
