The talks with the ministries on the budget rectification will be concluded on Wednesday, and on Thursday the Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă will be presented with the first results, and the proposal for rectification will be presented to the Government on 31 of July, Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici said.

“Today, at Finances, we end the talks with the ministries. There will be a discussion with the Prime Minister on Thursday that will show the first results and we will have the budget rectification proposal on July 31. But, as a matter of principle, as I said, everything that means obligations related to Romanians’ incomes, salaries and pensions will be ensured. As for the investment invoice, too, and the difference will shift between ministries according to these two priorities. We talked about cutting spending. It is the right approach, the common sense approach that any dignitary, especially the Minister of Finance, has to demand that the public money be properly spent on actions that bring growth in the economy, not on activities that are not justified,” Teodorovici explained, quoted by Agerpres.

Asked whether he is considering an increase in the deficit target, the Finance Minister replied that this issue was not under discussion and remains on the assumed deficit of 2.76%.
