Termoelectrica Moldova plans to use biomass as fuel in 19 district heating plants and to install photovoltaic panels on the roofs of its buildings in Chisinau.

“We have 19 thermal power plants in the suburbs that we want to switch to biomass in the near future. In Chisinau we have many buildings on which we could install photovoltaics,” said Iurie Razlovan, the company’s interim general director, during the “Regional Approach Chișinău” conference organized by Energynomics.

The company, Moldova’s leading cogeneration electricity producer, was founded in 2015 through the merger of three entities and currently employs 1,800 people.

At the same time, Termoelectrica Moldova delivers about 650 million kWh of electricity annually to the national energy system, equivalent to 15-20% of the country’s energy production, and supplies 70% of Chisinau’s heat energy.

The conference “Regional Approach Chișinău” was organized by Energynomics with the support of our partners Huawei, Siemens Energy, Transgaz.
