The four aspirants for the management of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) presented their candidacies to the Governing Council of this UN body on Wednesday, reports EFE, according to Agerpres.
Slovak Marta Ziakova, Argentinian Rafael Grossi, Romanian Cornel Feruta and Burkinian Lassina Zerbo presented before the governors the visions and strategies for this body, whose former general manager, Japanese Yukiya Amano, died on July 18, according to financialintelligence.ro.
Feruţă, the interim general director of the IAEA, presented himself as the continuity candidate in order to facilitate nuclear technology to all 171 member countries. He said he would always focus on the civilian applications of atomic technology.
