The number of companies and authorized natural persons (PFA) that entered into insolvency decreased by 29% in the first eight months of 2019, compared to the same period of the previous year, to 3,978 insolvencies, it appears from the data published on the website of the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).
Most companies and PFAs entered insolvency were registered in Bucharest, respectively 669, decreasing by 39.5% compared to the same period of 2018. On the next places in the insolvency hierarchy are the counties of Bihor – with 328 insolvencies (- 15%), Timis – 222 (-26%), Constanta – 198 (-34%) and Iasi – 165 (-44%), according to Agerpres.
By activity areas, between January and August, the largest number of insolvencies was registered in the wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 1,244 (- 29.7%), in construction – 589 (-32%), in manufacturing – 469 (-31%) and in hotels and restaurants – 310 (-27%).
