The price of Romanian gas on the Romanian Commodity Exchange (BRM) reached, in December, 103.71 lei per MWh, 32% higher than that of the resources traded on the Vienna stock exchange, according to BRM data, analyzed by Agerpres.

The CIGH Front Month Index at the Baumgarten Stock Exchange in Vienna, the benchmark for the market in Central and Eastern Europe, was, in December, the equivalent of 78.45 lei per MWh.

The difference between the stock exchange index in Bucharest and the one in Vienna was even greater in November, when gas traded with 107.15 lei per MWh in Romania and 77.04 lei per MWh in Austria.

The price of domestic gas was usually lower than that of international markets, but the report reversed at the beginning of last year, with the entry into force of GEO 114/2018.
