This year, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine completed the synchronization of their national energy systems with the states of ENTSO-E (composed of European electricity carriers)and they intend to become an energy transit corridor to the EU, said Veaceslav Untilă, the general director of the National Energy Authority Regulation of the Energy field in Moldova.

“This year, Moldova and Ukraine completed synchronization in ENTSO-E, and this will help us to have a stable energy system. We want to strengthen our role as an energy corridor by building interconnection electricity lines and by ensuring an operational legislative framework, in order to have competition and a real opening of the market. The creation of this energy corridor can only be achieved by expanding the connections with Romania and Ukraine”, said Untillă, during the “Regional Approach – Chisinau” conference, organized by Energynomics.

The Republic of Moldova, which depends almost 100% on gas imports from Gazprom, obtained this year the status of a candidate for integration into the European Union, but with this invitation, the number of reforms needed to be implemented in a short period of time increased substantially. of time.

Chisinau is trying to create the conditions for the development of a competitive energy market both by diversifying energy production sources and by strengthening energy networks for integration into the regional and then European market.

“We are facing an unprecedented energy crisis that has a major impact on the entire economy and every citizen. ANRE has taken measures to liberalize the energy market, but we still need prompt and innovative decisions,” said Untilă.

The conference „Regional Approach Chișinău” was organized by Energynomics with the support of our partners: BRM East Energy MD, Huawei, Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe, Schneider Electric, Transelectrica, and Transgaz.
