The Romanian Energy Centre Association – CRE, through its members, the main companies in the energy production, transmission and distribution and energy services sectors, expresses its concern about the effects that GEO 119/2022 will have on the entire energy market.
“We regret the lack of genuine communication and consultation with representatives of the energy industry, both business and associations,” CRE wrote in a press release. “We believe that the application of the ordinance will cause serious and irreversible dysfunctions in the energy market and implicitly risks to Romania’s energy security and economic competitiveness.”
CRE notes “with surprise the departure from the principles and plans set out by the European Commission, regarding the legislative directions of the internal energy market (e.g. Directive 944/2019, Regulation 943/2019), the set of solutions regarding the solution of the present energy crisis, and the very basic principles of the functioning of the business environment”.
A new GEO for energy has been published in the Official Gazette
The Romanian Energy Centre Association has among its members companies from the entire value chain of the national energy sector, both private and state entities. CRE reaffirms its readiness to be actively involved by making recommendations and developing general and specific measures to ensure energy security, continuity of energy supply at affordable prices for end consumers.
