Sales of cars increased by 9.5% in Romania, in the first seven months of the year, compared to the same period of 2018, and the segment of eco-cars had a share of 3.7% of the total, shows the data published by the Association of Manufacturers and Importers of Cars (APIA).

In this context, unlike most of the European Union (EU) member states, Romania is experiencing a continuous growth of the market in the last 12 months – in a single month a decrease being recorded, respectively in March.

The sales of cars in Romania are mainly supported by legal entities covering 57% of the total purchases of cars made in the first seven months of 2019, according to Agerpres.

The number of cars purchased by individuals was of 42,465 units, 28.6% above the percentage reported in the same period of last year. Thus, the share of purchases made by individuals increased, over the analyzed period, from 37% in 2018 to 43% in 2019.
