Romanians will also be able to buy motorcycles through Rabla 2020 subsidy program, and those who will purchase an electric vehicle will not be able to sell it for at least a year, the Minister of the Environment, Water and Forests, Costel Alexe, announced on Tuesday.
Rabla Clasic and Rabla Plus programs will have a total budget of 545 million lei this year, of which 140 million lei only for the purchase of electric cars or plug-in hybrids, Alexe said, according to Agerpres.
He also mentioned that for the purchase of a motorcycle through the Classic Rabla Program, the value of the voucher will be 3,500 lei, in exchange for disposing of a used car.
Regarding the Rabla Plus Program this year, the budget will increase by 45% compared to 2019, up to 140 million lei, the intention being to stimulate the use of electric cars in urban traffic. “The Rabla Plus program, by which we stimulate the transport with zero or near zero emissions, comes with news. For this year we have the largest budget since this program, of 140 million lei, an increase of 95 million lei over 2019. We keep the highest scrap premium in Europe for electric cars, of 10,000 euro for full electric and about 4,500 euro for plug-in hybrid cars, but no more than 50% of the value of the new car. This year, 2,500 Romanians can buy full electric cars and 400 Romanian plug-in hybrids. Basically, we aim to introduce as many hybrid and electric cars as the last four years, since we have started Rabla Plus,” said Costel Alexe.
