The thermal power stations provided most of the electricity production in the first six months of the year, according to Transelectrica data. Hidroelectrica was the first producer of the country, the coal is declining, and the wind and photovoltaic have generated almost as much as the Cernavoda nuclear power plant.

Thus, the net electricity production was 29.4 TWh, in the first six months of this year, at a cumulative national consumption of 28.8 TWh, net. Romania continued to be a net exporter in the first half of 2019, with 0.44 TWh – only in January it was an importer, in the other months the balance being reversed, according to e-nergia.ro.

According to Transelectrica data, the thermal power plants produced 10,263 GWh, of which those on lignite 5,611, those on oil 439, those on gas 1,322 and those on hydrocarbons (gas and oil) 2,891. The hydroelectric plants produced 9,564 GWh, the renewables, 4,669 GWh, of which wind 3,626, photovoltaic 861 and biomass 182. And the nuclear – 4,919 GWh.
