IKON IDEEA and Rainpower Norway, together with TREC Cluster, held Tuesday in Cluj-Napoca the event named “Think for the future – Green Industry and Energy Conference”, part of “Green Innovation in the Romanian industry” program supported by Norwegian grants.
The event was designed to facilitate the access to recent examples of good practices of Romanian industrial companies that have implemented innovative and visible projects, from renewable energy, energy efficiency and smart cities sectors. Also, were analyzed the possibilities to access European funding in order to achieve these goals.
Various topics were discussed, including the role of energy clusters in the energy industry, advocacy, synergies between research, universities and the energy market: energy efficiency, energy audits, renewable energy systems, smart cities energy connected, innovative green products.
At the conference held in the Liberty Event Venue Hall from the Liberty Technology Park attended renowned practitioners in the field of energy and smart cities, connected energy, such as: Zoltan Coroian – President of Cluj Metropolitan Area; Nicolaie Moldovan – City Manager Alba Iulia; Gabriel Avăcăriţei – Chief Editor energynomics.ro; Andrei Ceclan – PhD. Eng. Technical University and Servelect representative; Sorin Hanja – Energobit Esco representative; Răzvan Marcus – Explore Green representative, as well as other experts specialized in green projects funding.
The event is part of the program “Green Innovation in the Romania industry”, included in the funding scheme provided by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009 – 2014 (Norway Grants) and contributes to the reducing of the socio-economic disparities in the European Economic Area and to the strengthening of the bilateral relations between the two countries. The objectives of the program aim at increasing the competitiveness of green companies, the greening of existing industries, innovation and development of green entrepreneurship spirit.
IKON IDEEA, a company operating since 2004 in the field of metal confections, has won finance supported by Norwegian funds, that has a total value of 574.300 euro, of which 250.000 euro represent the funding through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, under the ‘Green Innovation in the Romanian industry” program.
The Green Innovation in the Romania industry program is administered by Innovation Norway, a Norwegian public company based in Oslo, owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry and by the Norwegian county municipalities. Innovation Norway is the most important instrument of the Norwegian Government for innovation and development of Norwegian companies and industry.
