Enery – Two transactions for a total portfolio of 117 MW in RES

Enery has signed two acquisition transactions for a total portfolio of 117 MW in renewable electricity generation capacity. The two transactions bring Enery to a solid portfolio of generating capacity: 5 photovoltaic parks with a total installed capacity of 36 MWp and 81 MW in hydro, solar and wind. In total, the transactions amount to 108 million euros.

Enery bought five solar photovoltaic plants in Romania, with a total capacity of 36.2 MWp, for 37 million euros, in October, after in September it signed the acquisition of the portfolio of renewable energy projects held by Jade Power Trust in Romania, for approximately 71 million euros: the sale includes the subsidiaries Transeastern Hidroelectrica Del Ucea SPV and Transeastern Rott Energy SPV III, as well as the holdings in Power LIVE One, Rott Energy, Zagra Hidro, Corabia Solar, Holmron Renewable Energy and East Wind Farm.

Monsson-Rezolv Energy

Monsson signed an agreement with Rezolv Energy for the construction of the largest photovoltaic park in Europe. The park will have an installed capacity of 1,044 MW and will include a state-of-the-art energy storage solution. The project has a current estimated value of 800 million euros, and construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2023. Upon completion, the project will generate enough electricity to power at least one million people annually.

Monsson is one of the most important developers of green energy projects in Romania. Established earlier this year, Rezolv Energy benefits from an experienced management team that has previously developed and managed a significant portfolio of energy projects in Central and South Eastern Europe, including the Chirnogeni wind farm. The company also announced in 2022 the partnership with Low Carbon for the delivery of the “Vis Viva” wind farm, with an installed power of 450 MW, located south of Buzău.

Prime Batteries Technology-EIT

Prime Batteries Technology signed an investment agreement with EIT InnoEnnergy for the development of electric battery production in Romania. Romanian battery manufacturer Prime Batteries Technology is receiving funding from European technology and innovation group EIT InnoEnergy to increase the annual production of batteries and storage systems in Europe to 8 GWh by 2026, according to a company announcement in Brussels. This will be possible through the development of the factory in Ilfov, an investment that would amount to a total of one billion euros by 2026, of which the financial institution will finance only a part.

The investment will amount to one billion euros, until 2026, said entrepreneur Adrian Polec, founder of Prime Batteries Technologies. “We will raise money from investment funds specialized in renewable energy, about 30-35%, and the difference through bank loans from European institutions and European-sized banks. We have submitted a memorandum to the Ministry of Energy and we are waiting for the PNRR as soon as possible,” said Polec.
