The most challenging project to build a 400 kV overhead power line (OPL) – Portile de Fier – (Anina) – Reșita, in the last 30 years, has been successfully completed, Transelectrica reports.
The construction project of the Overhead Power Line (LEA, OPL) 400 kV Portile de Fier – (Anina) – Reșița was completed, the line successfully passing the energization test on February 29, 2024. The total value of the investment project is 150 million lei, the works being executed by Asocierea ELECTROMONTAJ S.A. BUCURESTI – ROMELECTRO S.A., with subcontractors: EMFOR MONTAJ SA, SC ELECTROMONTAJ SA Sibiu and SC ELECTROMONTAJ SA Cluj. The design of the line was carried out by the Bucharest Institute of Energy Studies and Design.
The energization of the newly built line marks the end of the execution works, by testing the technical operation of the electrical installation. The Overhead Power Line 400 kV Portile de Fier – (Anina) – Reșita is the most complex, from a technical point of view, and difficult line project carried out in Romania, in the last 30 years, its route crossing mostly mountainous area , with rugged and difficult terrain. The technical complexity and challenges that the project teams, both of the builders and of the Company, encountered in the execution process of the works reflect the extraordinary effort of the specialists who contributed to the completion of this line.
The 400 kV Portile de Fier Overhead Power Line – (Anina) – Reșita will be put into operation from an operational point of view with the completion of the construction works of the 400 kV Reșita station, estimated in the second semester of this year. At the same time, the new 400 kV Reșita station will enable the operationalization of the 400 kV Reșita – Pancevo Overhead Electric Line.
The new 400 kV Portile de Fier Overhead Power Line – (Anina) – Reșița has a total length of 117 kilometers and consists of two sections: a new construction with 259 poles (the Portile de Fier – Anina section), with a length of 81 ,1 kilometers, and the modernization of an existing line of 142 poles (Anina – Reșita section), with a length of 36 kilometers.
