The major network incident that led to a power outage in the networks in Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and a partial power outage in Croatia had no impact on the National Electric Power System of Romania, according to Transelectrica.
“The major grid incident in the south-eastern part of the energy system of continental Europe, which occurred yesterday, 21 June 2024, and which led to a blackout in the grids of Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and a blackout of partial current in Croatia, had no impact on the National Electric Power System of Romania and in any of the neighboring power systems”, Transelectrica officials said.
The incident is being analyzed at the level of the European Association of Transport and System Operators in Europe (ENTSO-E), the entity that manages the operation of the interconnected European network.
“In the extreme meteorological conditions of hot weather announced for these days, Transelectrica is closely monitoring the safe operation of the National Electric Transport Network.”
