The operator of the national electricity transmission network will submits to the shareholders on May 13 the investment budget for this year, broken down by projects. The investment budget for 2019 is 284.8 million lei worth, with estimates of 660.1 million lei for 2020 and 535.2 million lei in 2021, according to company data.

In 2019, most of the sum, 206 million lei, will go to continue the projects already started, including 20 refurbishment projects and a project for the integration of SRE production and new power plants (Dobrogea and Moldova). 24 million in new projects, including the first stage of the expansion of the 400 kV Medgidia station by connecting the 400 kV Isaccea-Varna overhead power line and the 400 kV Isaccea-Dobrudja overhead power line in the Medgidia Sud station.

In a section devoted to the risks that could affect the realization of these investments, Transelectrica’s management refers to possible delays in the issuance of normative acts for the exclusion of the forest land from the protected forest stock, corresponding to the necessary corridor for building the overhead power lines and the termination of the contract by the contractor for the overhead power lines Porțile de Fier-Anina-Reșița. Risks have also been identified internally, including failure to complete / to start public procurement procedures (excessive length of document circulation between company entities for approval, legislative changes in public procurement framework, delays in the development of related technical documentation).
