On Monday, May 6, SNTGN Transgaz SA signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the use and development of the natural gas transmission network for the Midia Gas Development Project (“MGD Project”) with Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG). This comes immediately after the Ministry of Energy has issued the decision that allows Transgaz to start the works of the Podişor pipeline, which will unite the Black Sea platforms with the national transport system as well as the future BRUA project.
The Memorandum of Understanding on the use and development of the natural gas transmission network for the MGD Project was signed by Ion Sterian, General Manager of Transgaz and Mark Beacom, CEO of Black Sea Oil & Gas.
The Memorandum describes the basic principles, responsibilities and the cooperation framework for the implementation of the gas transmission pipeline that will take over in the national gas transmission system of the gas treated at the new gas treatment plant in Corbu, Constanta County.
According to Transgaz, the agreement also covers “cooperation in the field of research, innovation, technology transfer, decarbonization and the use of new technologies, injection of hydrogen into the gas pipe to ecologically extract gas, thereby contributing to mitigating climate change.”
